🏆 Grizzlython Winners Announced

Grizzlython saw over 10,000 participants from more than 70 countries submit 813 final projects to the judges making it the largest Solana hackathon to date.

Huge congrats to Underdog API for taking home the Grand Champion prize of $50k!

Underdog API allows developers to integrate dynamic NFTs into any Web2 product or workflow.

The number of entries and the quality of the projects submitted just shows how dedicated Solana developers are to the ecosystem, building the next generation of “only possible on Solana” apps!

🙁 A Tiny Controversy

What would a Solana hackathon be without a little controversy, right?

Tinydancer, the first lite client for the Solana blockchain took 4th place in the Infrastructure & Tooling track.

Some observers felt the impact a lite client will have on Solana deserved a higher prize, if not the grand prize, but the judgment was across a range of criteria including functionality, impact, business plan, and more.

Tinydancer also found itself defending an accusation of not properly attributing the use of some open source code, but the code in question was just a small part of Tinydancer source code.

Any controversy aside, Grizzlython was a huge success!

More than 35 projects took home a prize, and almost as many got at an honorable mention from the judges.
